Madonna University Admission Requirements

If you are aiming to gain admission into Madonna University for the 2025/2026 academic session, here is what you need to know about the admission requirements, both for UTME and Direct Entry.

UTME Admission Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Applicants must sit for the JAMB UTME and score a minimum of 140 to be eligible for admission into most courses. However, more competitive courses such as Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing require a minimum score of 200 or higher.
  • Candidates who did not select Madonna University as their first choice in the JAMB exam can still apply by changing their institution to Madonna University through the JAMB portal.
  • Candidates who are awaiting their SSCE results or its equivalent are eligible to apply, as long as they can present the results before resumption.
  • All prospective students are required to undergo a medical examination at Madonna University Medical Centres, for which medical fees must be paid.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least two (2) A’ Level passes in relevant subjects. These subjects could include Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, or Economics, depending on the course.
  • Holders of OND (Ordinary National Diploma), HND (Higher National Diploma), or NCE (National Certificate in Education) in relevant fields may also apply for admission through Direct Entry.
  • Direct Entry candidates must have a minimum of five (5) O’ Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • All Direct Entry candidates are required to purchase the JAMB Direct Entry Form and apply through the JAMB portal for proper registration.

Madonna University Postgraduate Admission Requirements 

For those interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree at Madonna University, here are the requirements for PGD, Masters, and Doctorate programs:-

Postgraduate Masters Degree Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a first degree (Bachelor’s) from a recognized university in Nigeria or abroad, with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division (2:2).
  • Candidates with a Third Class degree must also have a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in a related field with a minimum of Upper Credit from a recognized institution.
  • Candidates with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in a related field, with a minimum of Upper Credit, may also be eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have at least five (5) O’ Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
  • Candidates with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, ICAN, or others) may also be considered for admission into the Master’s program.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

  • Applicants should be graduates of Madonna University or any other recognized university.
  • Alternatively, applicants with qualifications equivalent to a first degree or those who hold a recognized Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit may also be eligible for admission into the PGD program.
  • Candidates must have at least five (5) O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics (if relevant to the course) in not more than two sittings.

Doctorate (Ph.D.) Program Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Master’s degree in a related field from a recognized institution, with a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale or B+ average.
  • Candidates with a Master’s degree with a lower CGPA (i.e., below 4.00) may still apply but must demonstrate their research potential and academic abilities.
  • All Ph.D. applicants must submit a research proposal in the intended field of study, demonstrating their understanding of the subject and proposed research plan.
  • A minimum of five (5) O’ Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Applicants with significant professional or academic research experience may be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. program.
