Babcock University Admission Requirements for Undergraduates
These are the requirements for undergraduate applicants, ensure you meet the requirements outlined below before purchasing the admission form.
- Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credits in GCE/SSCE/NECO examinations or their equivalent, obtained in no more than two sittings. For the Medicine program, all five credits must be achieved in a single sitting.
- Applicants are required to participate in the 2025/2026 UTME and attain a minimum aggregate score of 170.
- Only candidates who are 16 years of age or older are eligible to apply.
- Prospective students must select Babcock University as their first choice in the UTME. Those who initially chose a different institution can still apply but are required to change their first choice to Babcock University at an accredited JAMB CBT Centre to complete the admission process.
Direct Entry and Inter-University Transfers:
- Candidates seeking direct entry admission or wishing to transfer from another university must present the necessary credentials, including a JAMB Admission Letter, transcripts, and attestation letters from their previous institutions.
Babcock University Postgraduate Admission Requirements
All postgraduate candidates will need to meet the requirements outlined below to be eligible for admission:-
General Admission Requirements
- Postgraduate Diploma: Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification. Alternatively, candidates with a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least an upper credit from a recognized institution may be considered.
- Master’s Degree: Candidates must possess a first degree with a minimum of a second-class lower division from a recognized university. Those with a good postgraduate diploma, in addition to a first degree, HND, or certain professional certifications, may also be eligible.
- Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.): Applicants whose Master’s level coursework averages between a 3.0 to 3.49 CGPA (on a 5-point scale) or 50% to 54.99%, including coursework and dissertation, from a recognized university, may be admitted into the M.Phil. program.
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
- Regular Admission: Candidates should have a good Master’s degree with at least a 4.00 CGPA (on a 5-point scale) or 60%, encompassing coursework and dissertation, from a recognized university.
- Provisional Admission: This may be granted to applicants with a Master’s degree from an institution whose recognition cannot be adequately determined (typically in the case of foreign institutions). Provisional admission is usually for one semester, during which the student’s academic performance is evaluated to meet expected standards before granting regular admission status.
All candidates must provide proof that they completed or were exempt from the 1-year NYSC program.
