General Admission Requirements For Eko UNIMED
All candidates must ensure they meet the requirements for their preferred course to be eligible for admission.
- All applicants are required to have at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE, GCE O’Level, WAEC, NECO, or any other equivalent examinations recognized by the university. These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Importantly, these results must be obtained in no more than two sittings to ensure eligibility.
- Besides meeting the basic O’level requirements, candidates might be asked to satisfy other criteria that demonstrate their suitability for the program. This may include attending an interview or fulfilling other program-specific conditions as decided by the university.
Specific Admission Requirements for the MBBS Degree Programme
Candidates applying for the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program must meet at least one of the following requirements:-
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in a Basic Medical Science, Nursing Science, Physiotherapy, Biological Sciences, or Zoology from a university recognized by EkoUNIMED. The degree must be at least a Second Class Lower Division.
- Applicants with GCE A-Level or HSC certification must have passed with good grades in at least two subjects: Biology or Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Those who have completed JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board) must have passed the program with good grades in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.
Admission Requirements for the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
Candidates applying for programs in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (such as Human Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry, Human Physiology, and Pharmacology) should meet one of the following qualifications:-
- Candidates holding a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in a relevant discipline from a university recognized by EkoUNIMED must have obtained at least a Second Class Lower Division.
- Those who hold an NCE qualification at credit level, or an ND in a relevant field with at least Lower Credit, are eligible for consideration.
- Applicants who have passed GCE A-Level or HSC exams in subjects such as Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics are eligible for consideration.
- Candidates who have completed programs like IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board), JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board), or other recognized foundation programs must have obtained satisfactory grades in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics.
