FUTO Cut-Off Mark for Admission 2025/2026

Each year, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) sets a general cut-off mark for all Nigerian universities. Institutions like FUTO are expected to set the minimum cut-off marks based on this benchmark, considering their capacity, number of applicants, and specific course requirements.

For the 2024/2026 academic session, FUTO cut-off mark is 150. All prospective students who seek admission into FUTO must score this or more in the JAMB examinations to qualify for admission. However, this is a general cut-off mark, it does not apply to all departments at FUTO. Some departments require a higher cut-off mark for admission so you have to look out for the FUTO Cut-off Mark for all courses 2025/2026.

Note that only applicants who meet these cut-off marks are eligible to apply for FUTO Post-UTME Screening 2024/2026.

Federal University of Technology Owerri Admission Requirements 2025

Firstly, you need to understand the different modes of entry. There is the UTME mode and there is the Direct Entry mode. UTME candidates write JAMB and Direct Candidates are those who intend to use their diploma to gain admission. See below for the requirements for these two kinds of candidates:-

For UTME Candidates

  1. Candidates must have at least five credits in SSCE/GCE O’Level, achieved in no more than two sittings.
  2. They must ensure that they combine the correct subjects JAMB for their chosen course.
  3. Candidates must score a minimum of 150 in the JAMB UTME examination.
  4. Candidates must select FUTO as their first choice during JAMB registration.
  5. Candidates must have attained the age of 16 years old at the time of application.

For Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

  1. Candidates must have at least five credits in SSCE/GCE O’Level, obtained in no more than two sittings.
  2. Applicants must have A-level or IJMB passes in at least two subjects related to the intended course of study.
  3. Candidates must have at least a Merit Pass or higher in NCE, ND, or other recognized certifications.
