Edo State University Admission Requirements 2024/2025

If you have found the course you want to apply for, you need to meet the admission requirements set for the course. As you know, there are two modes of entry, if you are applying via the UTME mode or the Direct Entry mode, these are the requirements you need to meet:-

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old at the time of applying for admission.
  • Candidates must score at least 140 in the JAMB Examinations to be eligible for admission.
  • Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in either the GCE O’Level, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents. These credits must be obtained at not more than two sittings.
  • For courses like Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), the five required credits (including Mathematics and English) must be obtained in one sitting only.
  • Candidates who are awaiting their results can also apply.
  • All applicants will need to undergo a screening exercise conducted by the university.
  • Candidates who wrote the 2024 UTME but did not choose EDSU as their first choice can still apply by changing their university/course choice to Edo State University through JAMB.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

  • All Direct Entry candidates must purchase and process the 2024 JAMB Direct Entry form.
  • They must have an NCE (National Certificate of Education) with a Merit pass, OND (Ordinary National Diploma), or HND (Higher National Diploma) with a Credit pass.
  • A University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Two Advanced Level passes or equivalent in relevant subjects.
  • Candidates who have completed IJMB, JUPEB, or Cambridge moderated School of Basic Studies at acceptable grade levels.
  • For any of these qualifications, candidates must also meet the O’level requirements for the course they wish to study.

Transfer Candidates

Candidates who want to transfer from other NUC-accredited universities to EDSU must meet the following requirements:-

  • Complete the Inter-University Transfer application form online.
  • Pass an interview/ screening conducted by EDSU.
  • Meet the minimum entry requirements for the desired course at EDSU.
  • Provide a JAMB admission letter from their current university.
  • Ensure that their academic transcript is sent to the Admissions Office of EDSU.
  • Have a C.G.P.A. of 1.5 or above from their previous university.
