UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
There are two main ways students can gain admission into Edo State University, Iyamho as undergraduates: UTME and Direct Entry. Each one is designed for a different type of candidate, and it’s important to know which category you fall into before applying.
UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) is the most common route. This is for candidates who have just completed their secondary school education and are applying for admission using their SSCE results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB). If you are writing or have already written the JAMB exam, then you are applying through UTME.
On the other hand, Direct Entry is for those who already have some form of post-secondary qualification. This includes candidates with an OND, HND, NCE, IJMB, A’ Level certificates, or even a first degree. Direct Entry applicants don’t need to sit for the JAMB UTME exam again, instead, they apply directly through the JAMB Direct Entry portal and submit their credentials for admission consideration.
Let’s now look at the requirements you must fulfill for each category before applying for EDSU undergraduate admission.
