FUPRE Admission Requirements For UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
To gain admission into FUPRE, you can apply through either UTME (JAMB) or Direct Entry. Regardless of your choice, you must meet the following requirements:
UTME
- Must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, in no more than two sittings.
- Must select the correct JAMB subject combination for the chosen course.
- Must score at least 180 in UTME (higher scores may be required for competitive courses).
- Must choose FUPRE as their First Choice institution.
- Must participate in the FUPRE post-UTME screening as part of the admission process.
- Must be at least 16 years old at the time of admission.
Direct Entry
If you are applying for admission through Direct Entry (DE), you must meet the following requirements:-
- Must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, in no more than two sittings.
- Must have at least two (2) A-Level/IJMB passes in subjects related to the chosen course.
- Candidates with JUPEB/A-Level passes in relevant subjects are also eligible.
- Applicants with a First-Class or Second-Class Upper degree in a related field may be considered for direct admission into a higher level.
- Must purchase the FUPRE Direct Entry (DE) form through JAMB and also register on the FUPRE admission portal.
- Candidates with NCE, ND, or other advanced certificates must have at least a Merit Pass to qualify for admission.
FUPRE Postgraduate Admission Requirements
To qualify for admission into the postgraduate programs at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), candidates must meet the following criteria:-
General Requirements
- Only candidates who have obtained their NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate will be eligible for admission.
- Applicants must provide a valid email address and phone number during registration for easy communication.
- O’ Level Requirement: Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NBTE.
Program-Specific Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- A minimum of a Third Class (Hons) degree or an Upper Credit in HND is required.
- For Engineering and Technology programs, candidates with a Lower Credit in HND may be considered if they have at least five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Master’s Degree (M.Sc.)
- Applicants must have at least a Second Class Lower Division in a relevant field from a recognized university.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
- Candidates must have completed a Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or a weighted average score of 60% in a relevant field.
