Federal University Dutse Undergraduate Admission Requirements
All candidates are expected to meet these requirements to be eligible for admission.
UTME Requirements
- Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or an equivalent examination.
- Candidates must have a valid JAMB UTME score and meet the cut-off mark prescribed by the university for their chosen course.
- Candidates must participate in the university’s post-UTME screening exercise and meet the required score for their program.
- Candidates should be at least 16 years old at the time of admission.
Direct Entry (DE) Admission Requirements
- Possess at least two (2) A-Level passes in relevant subjects.
- Candidates with an ND, HND, or NCE with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields may be considered for admission.
- Candidates with a JUPEB/IJMB certificate with an acceptable grade in relevant subjects may be considered.
- All Direct Entry candidates must also register with JAMB and select Federal University Lokoja as their preferred institution.
Federal University Dutse Postgraduate Admission Requirements
These are the postgraduate requirements for Federal University Dutse.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- A bachelor’s degree (not below Third Class) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) (not below Lower Credit) in a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Must possess an NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
- O’ Level Requirement: At least 5 credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and 3 other relevant subjects.
Master’s Degree
- A bachelor’s degree (minimum Second-Class Division) from Federal University Dutse or any recognized institution.
- Alternatively, a candidate with a bachelor’s degree (Third Class) plus a relevant postgraduate diploma (PGD) with at least a credit pass may be eligible.
- Candidates with an unclassified bachelor’s degree (minimum “C” grade or 50% average) mA minimum of 5 credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Must have an NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
- A master’s degree (academic) with a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale in a field relevant to the proposed area of study, or
- A Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in a related discipline.
- In some cases, a candidate with a bachelor’s degree (minimum Second-Class Lower Division) may be considered under specific conditions.
