Program Specific Requirements

College of Computing and College of Science

To be eligible for postgraduate studies in the College of Computing and College of Science at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), applicants must meet the following criteria:-

• Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant science subjects in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NBTE (O’ Level).
• Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) must hold a minimum of a Third Class (Hons) degree or an Upper Credit at HND level.
• Candidates applying for a Master’s degree must have obtained at least a Second Class Lower Division in a relevant field from a recognized university.
• Those seeking admission into a Ph.D. program must have completed a Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or an equivalent weighted average score of 60%.

College of Engineering and Technology

Candidates applying for postgraduate studies in the College of Engineering and Technology must fulfill the following requirements:-

• Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) must hold a Third Class (Hons) degree or an Upper Credit at the HND level. However, candidates with a Lower Credit at HND level who have acquired at least five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience may also be considered.
• Candidates seeking admission into a Ph.D. program must have completed a Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or a weighted average score of 60% in the relevant field.
