JAMB Cut-Off Mark For Data Management

Before you can gain admission into any university in Nigeria, one of the requirements you must meet is the JAMB cut-off mark. This is the minimum score you are expected to get in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to be considered for admission into your chosen course.

For those interested in studying Data Management, the general JAMB cut-off mark is 160. This means you need to score at least 160 to be eligible to apply.

However, it’s important to note that meeting the minimum score doesn’t always guarantee admission. That is why we strongly advise you to aim for a higher score, ideally 200 and above, to increase your chances.

O’level Requirements  For Data Management

Aside from meeting the required cut-off mark and selecting the university as your first choice, you must also fulfill specific O’Level requirements to be eligible for admission into the Data Management program. You need to have five (5) credit passes in the following subjects:-

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Two (2) other Science subjects (such as Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, or Geography)

These credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings and can be from examinations like WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.

Universities in Nigeria Offering Data Management

As at the time this post was written, only one university in Nigeria offers Data Management as a standalone course. That institution is the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

However, many other universities in the country offer similar programs under different names. These include courses like Data Science, Information and Data Management, Data and Information Science, and others. These programs often cover the same topics and are found under departments like Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Sciences.

So while Data Management may not be common as a course on its own, you can still study similar fields in several other Nigerian universities.
