UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Form

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), through its College of Postgraduate Studies, has commenced the sale of the postgraduate admission forms. All individuals interested in the PGD, Master’s, or Ph.D programs offered by this institution are invited to purchase the form and apply for admission.

The UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026 can be obtained at the cost of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000) and is available on the admission portal. If you are interested in the postgraduate program, please ensure you are eligible for admission. You can do this by checking the requirements for the postgraduate program offered by Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2025/2026

Requirements For All Candidates

  • To be considered for any postgraduate programme at UNIZIK, all applicants must have at least five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language, in subjects relevant to their chosen course. These credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings and can come from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or TC II (for those applying to the Faculty of Education).

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes

You can apply for a PGD programme if you fall into any of the following categories:-

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum final CGPA of 1.51 on a 5-point scale.
  • You hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) from an approved polytechnic or monotechnic with at least a Lower Credit grade.

Master’s Degree Programs

To qualify for a Master’s programme, you must meet one of the following conditions:-

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university with at least 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 45% for universities that don’t use CGPA.
  • You hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) from a recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale.

MPhil/PhD (Master of Philosophy/Doctor of Philosophy) Programmes

You can apply for the MPhil/PhD route if:-

  • You already have a Master’s degree in your chosen field, and your final CGPA falls between 3.00 and 3.49 on a 5-point scale.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programmes

To be eligible for a direct PhD admission, you must:-

  • Hold a Master’s degree in your intended area of study from an approved university.
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or at least 60% if your university does not use CGPA.

How To Apply For UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Form 2025/2026 

To apply for Nnamdi Azikiwe University Postgraduate Admission Form, follow the steps below:

  • To apply for the UNIZIK postgraduate programme, all applications must be completed online through the university’s official portal at https://apply.cpgs.unizik.edu.ng. Follow these steps carefully:-
  • Begin by filling in all the required information on the application form and click on “Submit My Application.”
  • Check your email inbox for a confirmation message. Make sure the email you provide is active and accessible, as this is where your activation link will be sent.
  • Open the email and click the activation link to verify your account. Also, take note of your application number provided in the email — this will serve as your unique ID throughout the application process.
  • After activating your account, return to the portal and log in using your application number and the email address you registered with.
  • Review your details and proceed to pay the application fee online. Payment can be made using a debit card or bank transfer through Credo (for applicants within Nigeria) or Paystack (for international applicants). Ensure you remain on the payment page until you’re automatically redirected back to the application portal.
  • After a successful payment, continue completing the rest of your application following the provided steps. You’ll also receive a payment confirmation via email.
  • Once you have successfully submitted your application, print out your Application Form and Transcript Request Form. You are required to send the Transcript Request Form to your previous institution so they can forward your academic transcripts to UNIZIK. If there has been any change in your name, it should be clearly stated in the transcript request.

Important Guidelines for Transcripts and PhD Research Proposal

All applicants are required to ensure their academic transcripts are sent to the Secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies, on or before September 5, 2025. This can be done in two ways:-

  • Hard Copy: Sent directly to the College.
  • Soft Copy: Must be emailed from the official email address of your former institution to:
    [email protected]

Please note that transcripts sent from personal email addresses will not be accepted.

Special Requirement for PhD Applicants

If you are applying for a PhD programme, you must upload a research proposal along with your application. This proposal should be written and must not exceed five (5) typed pages.

Your proposal should include the following:-

  • Your Full Name
  • The Department and Faculty you are applying to
  • Proposed Topic: Keep the title brief and not more than 18 words
  • Background of the Study
  • Aim and Objectives
  • Methodology
  • Expected Outcomes
  • References

UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Deadline 2025/2026

The sale of UNIZIK Postgraduate admission forms for the 2025/2026 academic session officially began on January 5th, 2025. Interested applicants are advised to complete their application process early, as the sale of forms will close on August 29th, 2025.

All completed application forms must be submitted on or before September 5th, 2025. This deadline applies to applicants for online, full-time, and part-time programs.
