FUTA Admission Requirements

As you already know, there are two main modes of entry to study undergraduate programs offered by FUTA. Below, you will find the requirements for admission through both modes of entry. Ensure you meet the requirements for the mode of entry that applies to you.

UTME (JAMB) Admission Requirements

To gain admission into the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) through the UTME (JAMB), you must meet the following requirements:-

  1. Ensure you choose the correct JAMB subject combination that matches your intended course of study.
  2. You must achieve a minimum score of 180 in the recent JAMB UTME to be eligible for admission consideration.
  3. You need at least five credits in your Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE O-Level). This should include English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects relevant to your chosen course. These credits should be obtained in no more than two sittings.
  4. FUTA must be your first or most preferred choice in the JAMB registration.
  5.  Candidates must be at least 16 years old.

Direct Entry (DE) Admission Requirements

If you want to study through the direct entry route, these are the requirements you must meet to qualify:-

  1. Like the UTME requirement, you need at least five credits in your SSCE/GCE O-Level, including English Language, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects related to your intended course. These should be obtained in no more than two sittings.
  2. A merit pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), or other advanced-level certificates can be used for admission.
  3. Candidates should have passed two A-Level/IJMB subjects that are related to their course of study.
  4.  You must have passed JUPEB or A-Level courses in subjects relevant to your chosen course.
  5.  Direct entry applicants may also present a first-class or second-class upper degree in a related field.
