UNIMED Undergraduate Admission Requirements (2025/2026)
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, admits qualified candidates into various undergraduate programmes through two main entry modes: Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE). All interested applicants are expected to meet the requirements listed below before applying for admission.
UTME Admission Requirements
- All applicants must choose UNIMED as their first-choice institution during JAMB registration.
- They must have sat for the 2025 UTME and scored a minimum of 150 in the relevant subjects. Please note that some competitive courses may require a higher UTME score (e.g., Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Nursing).
- Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes at the O’Level, including English Language and Mathematics, in subjects relevant to their proposed course of study. These credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings in either WAEC, NECO, GCE, or equivalent.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by October 31st of the admission year.
- In addition to meeting the O’Level requirements stated above, all UTME candidates must participate in the UNIMED Post-UTME Screening Exercise as scheduled by the university.
- Only candidates who satisfy both the UTME and Post-UTME requirements will be considered for admission.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements
Applicants who wish to gain admission through Direct Entry must satisfy the following conditions:-
- In addition to the general O’Level requirements, candidates must possess a relevant A’Level qualification such as IJMB, JUPEB, NCE, ND, HND, or a university degree (B.Sc.).
- For ND, NCE, or HND holders, a minimum of Lower Credit is required. For university degree holders, at least a Second Class Lower (2:2) classification is expected.
- Direct Entry candidates must also upload their academic transcripts and any other relevant documents to the admission portal.
- Participation in the Direct Entry screening exercise organized by the university is compulsory.
Additional Notes for Competitive Courses
- For courses such as Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Radiography, and Medical Laboratory Science, candidates must obtain five (5) credit passes in one sitting only, in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
