Eligibility Criteria For OAUSTECH Jobs 2025

These requirements have been segmented based on the various positions available, ensure you meet the requirements for the position(s) you are interested in before you apply.

University Librarian

• The candidate must be certified by the Librarian’s Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
• The candidate should have demonstrated expertise in areas such as Strategic Planning, Staff Management, Copyright and Intellectual Property, and Financial Responsibility.
• A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in University Library services is required.
• The candidate must have held the position of Deputy Librarian or higher and must have served in that role for at least three (3) years.
• The candidate should possess a good honors degree and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related field from a recognized university.
• A substantial body of scholarly publications (at least 20) in reputable national and international journals is essential.
• The candidate should not be older than sixty-five (65) years by the time they assume duty.
• A PhD degree is highly desirable and will be considered an added advantage.

Professors

• Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in the field they are applying for as the minimum qualification.
• Candidates must have at least 10 years of post-Ph.D. teaching and research experience at the university level, while for Readership, 9 years of experience is required.
• Candidates must have strong reputations as scholars, with significant publications in well-respected and peer-reviewed journals.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies will be considered an added advantage.

Lecturer I

• Candidates must have a good first degree, a Master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in a relevant course.
• They should have a minimum of three years of relevant teaching and research experience, with at least two of those years spent as a Lecturer II.
• A satisfactory number of publications in reputable academic journals is required.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies will be considered an added advantage.

Reader (Associate Professor)

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
• They should have at least 9 years of post-Ph.D. teaching and research experience at the university level.
• The candidate should be a respected scholar with significant publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

Senior Lecturer

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the field they are applying for.
• They should have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant teaching and research experience, with at least two years served as a Lecturer I.
• The candidate must have a satisfactory number of publications in reputable academic journals.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

Lecturer II

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Public Administration, and membership in relevant professional bodies will be considered an added advantage.
