FUTMINNA Postgraduate Admission Form 2024/2025

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has officially opened its postgraduate admission portal for the 2024/2025 academic session. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate studies and are looking to further their education are invited to apply for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s, or Ph.D. programs offered by the university.
These postgraduate programmes are open to qualified candidates who meet the university’s admission requirements. How Much Is FUTMINNA Postgraduate Admission Form?
The FUTMINNA postgraduate admission form costs Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000.00) only. In addition to this, bank/service charges will also apply during the payment process.
All payments must be made online through the Remita platform using either a MasterCard or Verve card via the university’s official portal. Make sure you use a valid ATM card and follow the instructions on the payment page to avoid any issues.

FUTMINNA General Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programs
To apply for a PGD at FUTMINNA, you must have one of the following:-
- A Third Class degree in a related field from a recognized university.
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit in a relevant course.
- An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least Lower Credit, plus one year of work experience in a relevant field.
Note: Candidates may be asked to take a qualifying exam, and an extra fee of ₦2,000 will be charged for that (separate from the application form).
Master’s Degree Programs
To be eligible for a Master’s programme at FUTMINNA, you need one of the following:-
- A Second Class Lower (or higher) degree from FUTMINNA or any other recognized university.
- A Third Class degree with at least two years of work experience in a relevant field. You may also be required to sit for a qualifying exam.
- An HND (Lower Credit) plus a PGD (Lower Credit minimum) in a related field, along with at least one year of work experience. You may also need to pass a qualifying exam.
PhD Programs
To apply for a PhD at FUTMINNA, you must:-
- Hold a Master’s degree from FUTMINNA or any recognized university.
- Have finished your Master’s with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 out of 5.00, or a ‘B’ grade, or 60% average score.
- In some cases, if your academic background doesn’t perfectly align with the PhD course, the department may require you to take extra courses to fill in the gaps.
Important Notes for All Applicants:-
- A NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is compulsory for admission.
- Candidates with PASS grades at any level (BSc, HND, OND, PGD) are not eligible.
- PGD candidates must have at least a CGPA of 2.50 to qualify for admission into a Master’s degree later on.
- Admission decisions are made by the Postgraduate School Board.
- Most programmes, especially science-based ones, are more likely to accept applicants with science backgrounds.
- All Master’s programs require both coursework and research. You will need to complete and defend a thesis before you can graduate; no shortcuts.
How to Apply for FUTMINNA Postgraduate Admission 2024/2025

- Go to the official university website at https://futminna.edu.ng
- Fill in all required details accurately, especially your email address and phone number (they must be current and active).
- Once you have completed and submitted your form, print it out.
- You’ll need this printed copy during registration if you’re offered admission.

- If you are applying for a PhD, you must upload a research proposal in your field of interest while submitting your application.
- You must submit at least two (2) referee reports.
- Your referees can either fill out and submit the reports online or download the form and send hard copies to the address above. Make sure this is done before the application deadline.
- All your academic certificates must be uploaded in their original form and colour.
