How to Pay FUTA School Fees 2025/2026

If you want to pay your school fees at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), follow the steps below carefully. The process is simple, but it’s important to do it correctly to avoid issues with registration or clearance later on.

  • Open the university’s Remita payment page at: https://firars.futa.edu.ng
  • Select whether you’re paying acceptance, tuition, accommodation, or another charge. Pick your level (100L, 200L, etc.) and the correct session/academic year.
  • Fill in your student details (matric number, name, department) and submit. The system will produce a unique RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference); this code is what you use to pay.
  • Use the RRR to pay via any of these options:-
  • Bank branch (tell the teller your RRR)
  • Bank mobile app / internet banking (choose bill payment → Remita)
  • Debit/credit card online on the Remita page
  • POS at designated campus points that accept Remita RRR
Enter the RRR exactly, a wrong digit means the payment won’t post.
  • After paying, return to the portal or Remita verification page, confirm the payment status, then print or download the official receipt. Keep both digital and printed copies.
  • You’ll need the receipt for course registration, clearance, or bursary checks. Upload copies where required or present the printed receipt to the admissions/bursary office.
  • If your level allows installments (often 200L–500L), pay the required first installment (usually 50%) before first-semester registration and the remainder before the second semester. First-year students may be required to pay in full; check the current notice.
  • Pay before the deadline to avoid late penalties. Always use the official FUTA portal or approved bank partners; avoid third-party sellers.
  • If your payment does not reflect, contact the FUTA bursary or Remita support immediately. Have your RRR, transaction ID, and bank teller slip ready.

All students are advised to pay their school fees on time to avoid any issues with registration or late payment penalties. Don’t wait until the deadline; completing your payment early helps you stay ahead and focus on your studies without stress.
