FUDMA Undergraduate and Postgraduate Admission Requirements

The Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has outlined specific admission requirements for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Below is a comprehensive overview to guide prospective students.

UTME Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Biology or Chemistry, Physics, and Agricultural Science.
  • Candidates must score between 140 and 180 in the JAMB UTME, depending on the chosen course.
  • Candidates must select Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) as their first-choice institution.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

Candidates must have any of the following:-

  • A National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with at least an Upper Credit in a relevant field.
  • A National Certificate in Education (NCE) with at least nine (9) points or an Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) result with six (6) points.
  • A valid NYSC Discharge Certificate or an exemption letter (for graduates).

Postgraduate Admission Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc, B.A., B.Ed, B.Engr, etc.) from a recognized university.
  • Candidates must have at least a Second Class Lower Division with a CGPA of 3.0 and above (for some programs, a CGPA of 2.50 or 50% may be accepted).
  • Candidates must have at least five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate or an exemption letter must be provided.

Program-Specific Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least a Third Class OR an HND with a Lower Credit in a related field.

Master’s Degree (M.Sc./M.A.):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least a Second Class Lower (3.0 CGPA or higher).
  • Some programs may accept a CGPA of 2.50 or 50%.

Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.):

  • A Master’s degree with a CGPA between 3.0 and 3.49 on a 5.0 scale.
  • Applicants who do not meet the Ph.D. requirements can apply for M.Phil. as a stepping stone to a Ph.D.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.):

  • A Master’s degree in the relevant field with a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a 5.0 scale or a minimum score of 55%.
