Mcpherson University Admission Requirements For UTME and Direct Entry Candidates

There are two main modes of entry into the MCU: UTME and Direct Entry. The UTME mode is for candidates who want to use their JAMB score and apply for admission. The Direct Entry mode is for those who have advanced qualifications and want to use it to apply for admission. Regardless of the mode of entry you choose, you need to meet the requirements for it. Here are details of the requirements you are expected to meet for admission:-

UTME Admission Requirements

All UTME candidates must have a minimum JAMB score of 160 to qualify for admission.
Meeting the cut-off mark does not guarantee admission, as successful candidates must pass the internal screening.
Candidates must have at least five (5) O’Level credits (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) in subjects relevant to their course of study. The subjects must be obtained in no more than two sittings. Candidates must include Mathematics and English as part of the five credits, depending on the course.
Candidates must meet the required JAMB subject combination for their course. Ensure that the subjects you choose align with the requirements for your intended course.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old by the time the academic session begins.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Direct Entry candidates must have at least two (2) A-Level passes in relevant subjects or equivalent qualifications.
Candidates with a National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution may also apply for Direct Entry, provided the qualifications meet the course requirements.
Like UTME candidates, Direct Entry applicants must have five (5) O’Level credits in subjects related to their course of study, including Mathematics and English, where applicable.
Although Direct Entry candidates are not required to sit for the UTME, they must still register with JAMB for Direct Entry and provide their JAMB registration number during the application process.
Direct Entry candidates must also meet the age requirement of being at least 16 years old by the start of the academic session.
