UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Form 2026/2027
The management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has officially commenced the sale of its postgraduate admission forms for the 2026/2027 academic session. Application Fee
Candidates applying for UNILORIN postgraduate programmes are required to pay the following non-refundable application fees:-
- Nigerian Applicants: N25,000
- International Applicants: $200

Postgraduate Programmes Offered
UNILORIN provides several postgraduate programmes to meet diverse academic interests:-
Ph.D. Programmes
- Open to holders of M.A., M.Ed., M.Eng., M.Sc., LL.M., or M.P.H. degrees with at least 60% or 4.0 CGPA.
- Duration: 36–60 months (full-time), 48–72 months (part-time).
- The programme includes prescribed courses where necessary and ends with a Thesis.
M.Phil./Ph.D. Programmes
- For candidates with 55–59.99% or 3.50–3.99 CGPA.
- Full-time only, 12–24 months.
- Dissertation required; candidates may convert to a full PhD after assessment if they achieve at least 60% in the first session.
M.Phil. Programmes
- For candidates with 50–54.99% or 3.00–3.49 CGPA.
- Full-time, 18–24 months.
- Ends with a Dissertation.
Master’s Programmes
- Open to M.A., M.Ed., M.Eng., M.Sc., LL.M., or M.P.H. holders.
- Duration: 18–24 months (full-time), 36–48 months (part-time).
- Coursework and research included; Dissertation required.
Postgraduate Diploma Programmes
- Available to candidates with Third Class Honours degrees.
- Focused on providing foundational postgraduate training in specific disciplines.
Eligibility Requirements Postgraduate Admission 2026/2027
All applicants must meet the following general criteria:-
- Submit all required entry certificates when purchasing the application form.
- Present a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge or Exemption Certificate dated on or before 30 September 2025.
- Have at least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics. Pre-2015 results may allow a pass in English or Mathematics, depending on the programme.
- Apply online and submit scanned copies of all credentials.

between Monday, 1 June 2026, and Friday, 5 June 2026. - Ensure academic transcripts are sent directly to the Head of Department where admission is sought. The university is not responsible for misdirected transcripts.
Programme-Specific Requirements
- Master’s Degree: Minimum Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Applicants outside their first-degree discipline may take a qualifying exam.
- Ph.D.: Relevant Master’s degree with at least 60% or 4.0 CGPA. Shortlisted candidates attend qualifying interviews.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science: First degree in relevant fields or HND in a related discipline with at least Lower Credit and one year cognate experience.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics: First degree in Science or Social Science, or HND in Statistics with at least Lower Credit.
- Master of Public Health (MPH): First degree in health-related fields with at least two years of relevant work experience.
- International Applicants: Must provide evidence of English proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS) if previous education was not in English.
How to Apply for UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Form 2026/2027
Interested candidates must complete their applications online through the official UNILORIN postgraduate portal.
After submitting the online form, applicants are required to send all supporting documents between Monday, 1 June and Friday, 5 June 2026. These documents include hard copies of the application form and other required credentials.
Successful applicants will be notified of their admission status through the UNILORIN application portal, so it is important to provide a valid email address and phone number during registration.
Candidates applying for full-time programmes must also provide a letter of release from their employer at the point of registration.
Qualifying Examination
All applicants for Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s programmes (except those who are exempted) are required to sit for a qualifying examination.
