General Ahmadu Bello University Admission Requirements 2025/2026

To be eligible for admission, you must meet the following criteria:

For 100-Level (UTME) Entry

O’Level Requirements:

  • Applicants must possess 5 credits in WAEC, NECO, or GCE (max two sittings)
  • Must include: English, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects

JAMB UTME:

  • Must meet the cut-off mark for the chosen course
  • Must write and pass English, Mathematics, and two other relevant subjects

For 200-Level (Direct Entry) Requirements

O’Level (Same as above) with any of the following:

  • 2 A-Level passes (IJMB, Cambridge, or JUPEB) in relevant subjects
  • OND/HND (Lower Credit/Merit) in a related field
  • NCE (Merit Pass) for Education-related courses

Diploma Holders:

  • Related Diploma (Merit Pass) to 200-Level admission
  • Unrelated Diploma to 100-Level admission

Postgraduate Admission Requirements

A. Master’s Programs (e.g., MBA, M.Sc):

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 2:2 (Second Class Lower)
  • 3rd Class with 5 years work experience (may be considered)
  • O’Level: 5 credits (including English & Maths)
  • NYSC Certificate (or exemption letter)

B. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):

  • HND (Lower Credit/Merit) in any field
  • Bachelor’s Degree (3rd Class accepted)
  • O’Level: 5 credits (including English & Maths)

Duration of Programs

  • Undergraduate (UTME): 4–6 years
  • Direct Entry: 3–5 years
  • Master’s Programs: 1.5–2 years
  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): 1 year

Notes:

  • All certificates must be verified (no fake results)
  • NYSC is required for postgraduate applicants under 30
  • Some programs may require work experience.
