UMYU Admission Requirements For Undergraduate Candidates

There are two major modes of entry through which candidates gain admission into UMYU. If you are planning to apply for admission, you need to meet the admission requirements for that particular mode of entry, and they are as follows:-

UTME Admission Requirements

Candidates must score at least the JAMB cut-off mark of 140 and above to be eligible for admission.
Candidates must choose Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU) as their first choice in the JAMB application or apply for a change of institution before the deadline.
Candidates must have a minimum of five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects (WAEC, NECO, GCE) at not more than two sittings. This must include English Language and Mathematics.
Candidates must choose the correct UTME subject combination relevant to their desired course of study.
Candidates must participate in and pass the Post-UTME screening exercise conducted by UMYU.
Candidates awaiting results may apply, but final admission is conditional on providing the required results within the university’s deadline.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:-

IJMB with at least 6 points in relevant subjects.

NCE with passes in relevant subjects from a recognized institution.

ND or HND with a minimum Lower Credit in a related discipline from a recognized polytechnic or institution.

Candidates must have a valid JAMB Direct Entry registration.
Candidates must participate in and pass the Post-UTME Direct Entry screening exercise.
Candidates must choose UMYU as their first choice or apply for a change of institution before the deadline.
