Admission Requirements for the University of Medical Sciences Ondo
These are the requirements that candidates must meet to be eligible for admission:-
- Candidates who selected Ondo State University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) as their first-choice institution in the 2025 UTME and obtained a minimum score of 150 are eligible to apply for admission.
- Candidates who did not initially choose UNIMED but are now interested can make the necessary changes through JAMB and apply for the post-UTME screening.
- Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, along with three other subjects related to their chosen course. These credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
- However, candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, or Doctor of Physiotherapy must have five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and these must be obtained in one sitting only.
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements
Candidates applying for admission through Direct Entry (DE) must have selected UNIMED as their first-choice institution or be willing to switch before applying.
Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:-
- A minimum of 10 points in relevant ‘A’ Level subjects.
- A B.Sc. (Hons) Degree with at least Second Class Lower Division.
- A National Diploma (ND) in Basic Medical or Science courses with at least Lower Credit.
For candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery or Dentistry, the requirements are stricter:-
- A minimum of 13 points in relevant ‘A’ Level subjects.
- A B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Basic Medical Sciences with at least Second Class Upper Division.
Candidates applying for Nursing Science must have:-
- A first degree or its equivalent in health-related or basic science courses, with at least Second Class Lower Honours or Lower Credit.
All candidates must ensure they meet the specific course requirements and participate in the UNIMED Post-UTME screening to be considered for admission.
